Mission Statement

The Iowa Valley Global Food Project (IVGFP) is a coalition of Eastern Iowa non-profits and community groups that are working together to make our local food system more inclusive by creating opportunities for immigrant community members— new Iowans— to obtain greater access to food, land, and educational resources.

IVGFP leased 3.7 acres of land available for food production at the Johnson County Poor Farm.
The project uses the land to establish gardening area in which community garden and commodity test plots that focus on culturally appropriate foods will be targeted towards meeting the needs of local communities' groups.
